How do I take care of fish in a backyard pond? - backyard ponds

My husband has just building a garden with a fountain pond. Is it difficult to keep fish in it? What must I do to take care of them?

  1. Check with your local dealer. Depending on the depth of the lake, the weather and how much sun the pond to determine which types of fish can have. Goldfish & Koi are very resilient. If the pond is about 3 meters deep, the fish can throughout the year, also left in the snow, it is only in hibernation. You need to feed the fish, make sure that the water in the pool according to your taste for water testing, cleaning and maintenance of a filter. One source is good, but you need something to filter dust and mud in the water fish. They can be hidden for pond plants for the fish among them.   6. Make sure that all breeds of fish that is always together with others. Do not worry too much. If you live in a cold climate, make sure that the pond is deep enought that will freeze all the way (or install a water heater). Also add a pacifier or a source of additional oxygen. Cleaning the pond once a year, but do not try to treat you, or move the fish.
